We discussed the upcoming ILTACON24 event with Dawn M. Hudgins, Sr. Vice President of Service Delivery for ILTA. ILTACON, the pinnacle annual event for legal technology professionals, is all set to unfold from August 11-15 at the prestigious Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN. This 4.5-day conference is not just about education; it’s about creating lasting connections and taking advantage of everything Music City has to offer! With a dynamic lineup of sessions, keynotes, and networking opportunities, this year’s conference is a must-attend for all legal tech enthusiasts.

Event Overview

ILTACON 2024 has an impressive array of activities planned to drive collaboration and innovation within the legal industry. With a focus on peer-driven programs and educational content, attendees will explore cutting-edge strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of legal operations. There will be a lot to learn from various speakers from the legal tech community: with approximately 309 speaking slots, Dawn told us there were 917 speaker applications this year, up from 699 last year.

Sessions and Keynotes

This year’s agenda includes a record-breaking number of sessions, with 84 ILTA grid sessions and approximately 140 total sessions, including those hosted by business partners. The opening keynote speaker will be Hannah Fry, known for her work on Bloomberg’s “The Future with Hannah Fry” series and authorship of “The Indisputable Existence of Santa Claus: The Mathematics of Christmas.” Additionally, security professional Jeff McKissack will delve into the critical topic of cybersecurity risks faced by law firms, emphasizing the role of human behavior in defense strategies as he delivers the Wednesday keynote.

Hot Topics

Among the key themes to be explored are “change,” “AI,” and “security,” building upon the insights and discussions from the recent EVOLVE conference in Charlotte in May. These topics reflect the forefront of technological advancements and strategic considerations in the legal sector.

Exciting Activities

ILTACON 2024 is also about experiencing Nashville’s vibrant culture. Attendees can look forward to local entertainment and contests with prizes such as boots, hats, and spices sourced from Nashville region businesses. All are welcome to a “guitar painting” team-building event on Sunday. Teams will decorate and paint the guitars, which will be displayed on-site throughout the week and judged by ILTACON attendees. The team that paints the crowd-favorite guitar will be awarded an ILTA reception to celebrate their accomplishment. The painted guitars will be donated to well-deserving music students at various musical institutions.

Attendance and Venue

Expectations are set for the second-highest attendance in ILTACON history, and the event will occupy the entire Gaylord Opryland Resort. The exhibition hall space sold out in May, and a redesign allowed more spots, with an astonishing 180 booths scheduled. Registrations were trending just behind 2019 when we spoke with Dawn on June 21 and will continue to increase daily as registration is still open. Rates will increase on July 1, so visit https://www.iltacon.org/iltacon/register/register today and take advantage of the lower rates today.
