We recently sat down with Beth Anne Stuebe, the Director of Strategic Content for the International Legal Technology Association, to discuss ILTACON23 taking place next month in Orlando, FL. During our meeting, Beth Anne shared great intel regarding sponsors, trends, participants, the agenda, and more. Here are some highlights from the conversation:
The conference kicks off Sunday, August 20th, once again at the Walt Disney World Dolphin & Swan, however, the folks at ILTA will also be taking over the nearby Yacht & Beach Clubs, which will double the number of buildings housing this year’s grand event. Spread across four properties, there will be room for more sessions, master classes, exhibits, and events across the entire area. Don’t worry; there won’t be too much free exercise (aka walking) required as the team has arranged for golf carts to be available to move attendees from place to place swiftly.
Sponsors, Business Partners, Expo Hall
Many of the core partners have been the same for years, including firms in document management, eDiscovery, contract/matter/file management, and legal research systems. Newer sponsors are also representing many emerging technologies supporting the conference this year.
Additionally, this year the Startup Hub (A featured showcase of legal IT and tech startups, disruptors, and visionaries that will be all together within an exhibitor destination at ILTACON 2023) will feature over 20 companies that will share the expanded expo areas with other sponsors. Some of these exciting young organizations focus on hot topics in the legal tech space, such as AI, chatbots, and the Metaverse.
With an expanded exhibit hall with numerous rest areas and coffee stations, attendees can take their time to explore. There is more room and more time to browse with an extended conference schedule featuring more Sunday content than ever before, earlier weekday sessions, and a full day on Thursday.
ILTA Member Input: Hot Topics covered this year at ILTACON
To address issues of interest to members, ILTA addresses topics such as collaboration tools and remote desktop deployment for the new hybrid world. In short, many high-level leadership discussions should help firms to manage everything from eDiscovery to litigation support. There will be something for everyone!
Keynotes
With a constant focus on peer collaboration and networking, ILTA wants to help ensure every peer has some knowledge and tools to learn to care for their own mental health.
Monday’s keynote will cover work issues such as strengthening emotional intelligence and overall well-being. Subsequent Keynotes will touch on magic, mentalism, resilience, then sustainability (G100/G200) in the closing. Each keynote will have a separate topic; however, the general theme of mental health, living an enjoyable life, and sustainability all tie into the idea of taking care of yourself so you can help to take care of others.
Social Events and Networking Sessions
With morning yoga every day, a kickoff golf tournament, and block parties starting on Sunday, there will be many opportunities to meet and connect with peers through Thursday evening. There will be live music, cocktail parties on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and the Hot Tropical Nights closing reception on Thursday evening.
For first-time ILTACON attendees, there will be a Buddy System (https://iltacon.org/about/first-timers) that connects newbies with individuals who have attended in the past. With such a large event, this buddy system allows someone to be “brought up to speed” on maximizing their time at the conference.
Extended Days and Hours, Registration
With a full day of events and programing on Sunday the 20th and a full day Thursday the 24th, consider arriving Saturday and leaving Friday to take full advantage of everything ILTACON23 has to offer.
Day passes are still available, plus there is also an Exhibit Hall Only pass. Organizations may take advantage of getting a 7th Super PassPass for free with the purchase of 6, and on top of that, an 8th individual will also be eligible for a free SuperPass if they are a first-time attended. That’s 8 for the price of 6! Go to https://iltacon.org/iltacon/register/register to see all the registration options!
