A Preview of ILTACON22: New Education Credits, \”Huge\” Keynotes, and A Look Beyond the Conference

I had the opportunity to sit down with Beth Anne Stuebe, Director of Publications and Press at the International Legal Technology Association, to discuss ILTACON22, their upcoming conference scheduled for August 21-25, 2022, and hosted just outside of Washington, D.C. at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, MD.

During our conversation, Beth Anne shared exciting details about ILTACON22, from available education credits to keynote teasers, before we wrapped up with a preview of what\’s coming up for ILTA beyond the conference.

Beth Anne shared that ILTACON22 attendees can expect a variety of new sessions, including a robust educational program of 60-70 sessions and new educational credit opportunities for individuals seeking their 6-Sigma and PMP certifications, in addition to CLEs. \”Technology-wise, we\’re offering something for everyone,\” Beth Anne comments. \”We want people to get the most educational benefit and the most professional growth out of every opportunity [at ILTACON22].\” These new added benefits offer an excellent way for attendees to gain even more career development than they have from past years at the conference.

Keynotes are a hot item this year, including two days with AI and Big Data expert Patrick Schwerdtfeger. Patrick is a published business futurist routinely featured on Bloomberg TV who also produces quality content on his vlog, which has garnered nearly 7 million views. Hon. Tanya R. Kennedy, an Associate Justice of the Appellate Division of New York, is a distinguished public speaker and a member of the Board of Directors of the New York City Bar Association. She\’ll be leading the Day 3 keynote.

\”These are huge speakers who have rooted technology and legal backgrounds,\” Beth Anne comments.

Another exciting addition this year is ILTA Hub, designed as a venue for legal technology small businesses and startups to pitch their product or solution to real potential users and buyers from many of the largest legal technology providers and law firms in the world. The Hub will be open daily, giving a platform to presenters who, while small, might also be developers of the best new technologies we haven\’t heard of yet.

 Finally, Beth Anne reflected on her team\’s progress concerning the aggressive three-year Strategic Plan ILTA laid out in the fall of 2020. The last time Legal Tech Talent Network sat down with Beth Anne, we talked about the idea of MyILTA, its program goals, and the mission statement. In the past two years, much of the strategic plan of MyILTA has come to fruition. ILTA has delivered more robust content, leveraged technology to communicate valuable information to members across the globe with greater efficiency, and even added a new core value to its mission statement. As the organization looks to the future, it continues to find ways to enhance the impact ILTA has on its members. \”I think the next strategic plan will look at the development and delivery of tech and services in ways that our membership wants,\” Beth reports.
