Legal Tech Talent Network

The Chief Litigation Officer Summit, which took place in the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, Florida, provided a forum for 100 leading Fortune 500 attorneys to gain insightful knowledge into the principal practices in litigation prevention and management. The unparalleled three-day event brought chief litigation officers together, with the leading services providers in their field and then topped it off with a fantastic cocktail reception.

Attendees started the summit with numerous stellar presentations given by the likes of Sunoco, First Data Corporation, Home Depot, ACCO Brands, American Express and General Dynamics. There they shared best practices in creating effective strategies in retaining evidence.  Attendees heard about strategies in overcoming the challenges of compliance in today’s multi-national companies and how to leverage global privacy programs. In one particular presentation, the crowd listened to Heather Gatley, Associate General Counsel and Head of Global Labor and Employment from Ryder Systems on “Formulating Winning Litigation Strategies for Class Action Lawsuits”.  These panel discussions, master classes and case studies counted for 12-15 CLE’s for those looking for continuing education credits.

Throughout the day delegates got to sit face-to-face with some of the most niche boutique service providers. These service providers typically fall into three types of categories for delegates. The first are existing providers that attorneys want to catch up with. The second are providers who are offering services or products delegates are sourcing and the third are vendors who are doing something new in the field. Essentially these 25 minute discussions give both parties a chance to exchange common interests and stay ahead of the curve.

The day’s meetings and presentations were capped off with various informal networking activities, which included a casino night complimented with cocktails and delicious hor dourves on the veranda.

Delegates and service providers alike left the event highlighting the quality of the presentations, formal and informal networking opportunities and the efficient use of time and energy participation at the Summit offered.
